Have you ever wondered why certain geographical regions tend to gravitate towards distinctive nail shapes, lengths, and art styles?
Probably not until now.
This is a subject that my brain has spent an extensive amount of time musing about, so I thought I would launch a silly full-scale investigation into this in order to report back to the internet. Any reader will immediately catch a whiff of my hyper fixation on my profession and understand the plight of my poor clients who get to hear me brain-dump all this information during their appointments.
My plan is as follows:
- List out major US cities/states that I’ve noticed have very noticeable nail dialects
- Create a market research report listing the following:
- City/state/region name
- Number of licensed nail technicians in specified area
- Average cost of nail services
- Pictures of popular nail art/styles
- Largest religious population
- Red or Blue voting district (just for kicks and giggles)
- Main profession and average salary of working age women in the area
- Any additional facts I think of along the way
- A nickname for the regional style based on the data that will describe the nail dialect
Leave a comment with a region that has a specific nail style if it’s not mentioned here. Here are some places I’ve noticed thus far in the USA. I plan to expand this series outside of the country, but I haven’t been fortunate enough to travel abroad and experience these things for myself yet.
– Utah
– Houston, TX
– Arizona
– Los Angeles
– Washington D.C.
– Portland, OR
I’m excited to see this project develop!
-Smooches!!
